Year 6 really enjoyed their visit to Crucial Crew learning about life skills. We first learnt about the dangers of fire, and how dangerous it can be to set fire to wheelie bins and the devastating effect this has on peoples’ lives. We then had a lesson in crossing the road and how looking both ways at all times when at traffic lights and being patient is key to keeping safe. Year 6 experienced the potential dangers in a bedroom when a lot of items are charging or plugged in. They phoned 999 and heard the response at the other end of the phone, and practiced the correct thing to say. Year 6 experienced a courtroom and role played a scenario where a character called Sam had broken the law. They also listened to the dangers of county lines drug smuggling and the importance of stating alert.
