The Arts

Trinity Players Pantomime…

What a joy it was to see @sixstmarys pupils perform at the Trinity Players Pantomime this weekend! 💛 They were outstanding! We are so proud to share in the achievements of pupils in and out of school.

The arts are alive at St Mary’s.

Year Three pupils are enjoying their weekly flute lesson with Barnsley music services this morning. The progress from recorders to flutes is superb. We hope the investment in music from this early age stays with our pupils forever.

Monet..

Beautiful final outcomes in Year Three as they finish their Monet unit.  The pupils have learned about brush strokes, use of colour and perspective. Well done Year Three.

Dancing Superstars

So proud of these Dancing Superstars for taking part and dancing in the Lamproom pantomime. The girls danced throughout December and were incredible.  So proud of their achievements in and out of school.

Our talented pupils…

Today, some pupils in years five and six showcased their talents at our Carols Around the Tree service by playing a solo. All the pupils played a Christmas carol of their choice and they were magnificent. In the new year, we will be holding a musical soirée to showcase all pupils in school who play an instrument.

Beautiful singing, wonderful musical talent

Today’s final service of the year was a showcase of musical talents led by Mr Spencer on piano. Beautiful singing, wonderful musical talent from years five and six and prayers from Year Six. Carols Around the Tree, as is the St Mary’s tradition, was the perfect way to end the year. Thank you to everyone who attended.

Carols Around the Tree…

Our Year Six choir sound in fine form ahead of our ‘Carols Around the Tree’ performance tomorrow. We cannot wait to share with you individual talent from members of our school community who have music lessons with Barnsley Music Services as well as songs from the concerts and a number of carols from Year Six.

Wow! What a show!

‘The Miracle on Stocks Lane’ was superb. Written for us by Mr Ormondroyd, who played piano for us too, ‘The Miracle on Stocks Lane’ brought us laughter and the pure joy of Christmas. The pupils sung their hearts out and we were treated to a number of solos from pupils in Year Five. Well done to everyone involved.
