…we looked at the features of a newspaper by looking at various examples and what they have in common. Through working together, Year 6 learnt about the layout features as well as the language features of newspapers. Using some of the storyline in the class book ‘Cogheart’, Year 6 wrote an orientation and reorientation about the disappearance of Mechs in the book. Through manipulating sentences, the children found the best way to write an introduction having the most impact.
